There are ZERO BIDS on this car. How is $40k a deal, or even a relevant figure for an article on this vehicle, considering that over the next three days, people will either bid on it and it'll go up to a normal price, or they won't, and the seller (who has an 81% eBay approval, by the way, so not excellent) will simply pull the car and re-list it? Sigh.

There is no reserve, so I think 40k is a reasonable starting point for hypothetical internet shit shooting.

81% on eBay is abysmal. That's the kind of rating fraud artists earn. I'm guessing that's what's scaring people away from this one.

EDIT - they don't even have an 81% eBay rating; they've got a ZERO percent rating!
Last feedback left for this guy was frighteningly negative:

Seller is backing out n stealing my deposit, to court we go!Guy has no morals F-

Easy. Tavarish is a goof that actively tries to spite all his sensible readers by finding the worst car offerings and pitching them to us because he knows we hate them.

He should stick to writing articles about flipping cars.

To be fair, he only has one bad review. It appears he occasionally sells stuff, and much more frequently buys stuff (most of his reviews are for when he was the buyer). The number (81) next to his name is not a percentage rating; it is a point based rating.

EDIT: The zero percent is for transactions in the last 12 months.

I agree, his 'Art of Flip' articles were fantastic.

All of these new ones just seem to be a way to push eBay referral links onto us. I wonder if Jalopnik or Tavarish gets that commission?

The 81 number is not a percentage, but a count of the number of transactions (times he has received feedback from someone). He also does have a lot of positive feedback, just no feedback in the last year. Actually it's all positive except for one person claiming that he ran off with a deposit (red flag) and another neutral feedback saying that an item was fake (also a red flag).
